numero uno - the life journey

as taken from dictionary.com

home economics is a

-noun
1. the art and science of home management.
2. a college curriculum usually including studies in nutrition, the purchase, preparation, and service of food, interior design, clothing and textiles, child development, family relationships, and household economics.

i was first exposed to this subject back in 1996 when i was in secondary 1. i admit that i love this subject. i was even selected to be the subject representative for both years[sec 1 & sec 2]. but i was not given the opportunity of taking up food and nutrition as the class that i was placed in was not given F&N as subject choice.

after i completed my A levels in 2002, i wanted to join the teaching line. why? it has been my ambition. i came across of this home economic teacher training scheme and applied. but it was not meant to be then. i joined another workforce and applied teaching again after completing my 2 year bond. well, where there is passion, you will never give up. i got into the teacher- training scheme after my third try.

3 years in Temasek Polytechnic

the journey was not easy. but we had our fair share of fun, joy and laughter.
the cohort came in and graduated together and now we are in NIE, our last stage of learning before entering the real teaching world.

what made me to be even happier to be here?

My sister is together with me. Yes, we are in the same class. All making us more motivated to share in our passion to teach and our love for baking, cooking, sewing and handicrafts.
